Children & Youth Ministries
Kingdom Youth- High School
Age: High School 9-12 grade
Meets every Sunday @ 10:30am.
Here at Calvary Chapel Northwest, we are excited to welcome you and your children into our church family. Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me (Matthew 18:5 NKJV).” Our goal in the Children’s Ministry is to share the love of Jesus Christ with your children, from the youngest ones just learning to walk, to the older ones navigating their walk with Christ through their teenage years. We aim to meet your children where they are and equip them with a knowledge of God’s Word being taught on their age level and support you as parents in training them up in the way they should go, so that when they are old, they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6).

Men's Ministry
Men's Bible Study
The purpose of this ministry is to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). To be doers of the word and not hearers only (James 1:22). To instruct the men to be humble serving the brethren just as Jesus Christ set the example when He washed the disciples feet the night before He was crucified (John 13:12-17). We prepare men to fight in the spiritual realm (2 Cor 10:3-4) as good soldiers of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3). Lastly, we press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14) as we see the Day approaching knowing Eternity Matters Most (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Worship Ministry
Worship Team
The worship team at CCNW is charged with leading the body of Christ in corporate worship, but this is a small expression of what worship is as a whole (a personal life submitted to Christ). What we do is not dependent on talent but rather on Jesus Christ. While we perform musically, the worship team is not a band. Worship ministry requires a devotion and duty to Christ first and foremost followed by musical abilities. We are seeking musicians and vocalists who desire to please God and are willing to make a serious commitment to practice and serve on a consistent basis (8-10 hours per week).

Tech Ministries
Audio Visual
The purpose of this ministry is to equip the church with the skills and tools necessary to enhance worship experiences through audiovisual technology. This ministry focuses on the importance of clear communication, high-quality sound, and visual presentations that uplift and inspire the congregation during services and events. Just as we are called to glorify God in all we do (1 Corinthians 10:31), our mission is to ensure that every word spoken, and every image displayed in our church glorifies God and draws the congregation closer to Him. The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). Therefore, it is vital that we deliver His Word with excellence, removing any distractions that could hinder worship. Membership in the Audiovisual Ministry is more than just operating equipment—it's a form of worship that requires dedication, teamwork, and a heart for service.
We welcome anyone with a passion for technology and a desire to use their gifts to support the church's mission. Join us as we work together to create an environment where God's presence is felt powerfully through sound and visuals. Training sessions are held weekly and as needed, ensuring that our team is equipped to serve with excellence.

Outreach Ministries
The Shepherd's Heart- APN Response Team
Did you know there are currently over 3,000 children from San Antonio and surrounding areas in foster care? The system is in crisis, and Jesus is the answer.
Come join The Shepherd's Heart foster care ministry as we partner with the South Texas Alliance for Orphans to serve local families. In this ministry, you will come alongside families who are at-risk of having their children removed from their home and placed into foster care. Through a network of local churches, we minister to the material needs of each family to stabilize the placement of their children in their home. Teams of servants will also strive to form loving, encouraging, and positive relationships that reflect the heart of Christ. The goal of this ministry is to meet local families exactly where they are at, prevent fracture, and share the hope and good news of Jesus.
Isaiah 40:11 "He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young."

Outreach Ministry
At Calvary Chapel Northwest, The Outreach Ministry is passionate about fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Jesus Christ mandated believers “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations”.
We accomplish this through local outreach of our neighbors, sharing the Gospel while extending an invitation to attend church services. We make ourselves available for prayer and are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit ministering to those whom the Lord leads us to.
If you’re timid, or unsure how to share the Truth of God, come alongside us and we will equip you for the work!
2 Corinthians 5:18 (NKJV) Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

Baptisms
The Bible says that all professing Christians should be baptized (Matthew 28:18-20). Whether you've been following Jesus for a long time and never got baptized or are a new Christian, we would be honored to baptize you!

Hospitality Ministries
Ushering
As some of the first faces current members and newcomers to Calvary Northwest see, we want to welcome people in the same manner that Christ welcomed us, to the Glory of God (Romans 15:7). In addition, and if needed, we assist with finding seating, and any special needs an individual may have. Our Ushers also take part in the Communion Ministry, handing out communion elements as part of our worship to the Lord.
This ministry is great for those serving for the first time and offers an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to knit the heart of His children together as they serve one another.
Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Setup/Tear Down Team
This ministry transforms Dr. Pat Henderson Elementary School into church service every week as we look for a permanent home of our own.
This ministry tears down the school setting up children’s classes for four age groups and transforming the cafeteria into our sanctuary. After service, faithful servants tear down the sanctuary and children’s classes returning to the schools set up just as it was before we arrived.
Additionally, our servants are available for special services and events as the need arises. This ministry is great for those serving for the first time and offers an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to knit the heart of His children together as they serve one another.
Colossians 3:23-24 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Hospitality Team
The Calvary Chapel Northwest Hospitality Ministry is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all who enter our church doors. We provide a friendly greeting on Sunday Mornings by offering coffee and donuts as a simple gesture of hospitality. Our hope is to create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, encouraging fellowship and connection.
Beyond Sunday mornings, the hospitality ministry plays a role in supporting church events. We assist in planning and executing gatherings, retreats, and celebrations ensuring that every detail is considered to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for attendees.
By providing exceptional hospitality, we aim to reflect the love and compassion of Christ, fostering a sense of belonging and community within our church.
1 Peter 4:8-10 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Temple Fitness
The purpose of this ministry is to equip members with the tools to implement a healthy lifestyle that includes proper nutrition, physical fitness, education, and to teach how to incorporate into your daily life.
Believers’ bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in us, and we are called to glorify God in our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The Bible implores us to do all things to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31). We are to run the race striving for an imperishable crown disciplining our bodies and bringing it into subjection so that we do not become disqualified (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).
Paul writes “For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come (1 Timothy 4:8 NKJV).”
Change is not easy! So, grab a partner, and let’s get together and have a great time in fellowship as we prepare our minds and bodies to do what God has planned for us!
Classes are held at Harlan High School track the 3rd Saturday of every month at 08:00am. Training sessions include nutritional education, and a set of physical fitness exercises that can be accomplished at home.
